KNK / 00 — Connected product engineering

From copperto cloud.

Kenikma engineers connected products end to end: the circuit board, the firmware, the wireless link and the data platform behind it. One team, one system, no gaps at the boundaries.

01The stack

Five layers.
One team.

Connected products tend to break at the boundaries, where the hardware vendor hands off to the app agency. We own every layer, so the board is designed around the data it has to produce and the software knows exactly what the silicon can do.

  1. Multi-layer boards designed around the data they need to produce. Component choices that survive supply shortages, DFM-ready files, and enclosures built for dust, heat and people.

02Telemetry

Hardware ships once.
Data keeps paying.

Every device we build reports home. That stream of telemetry turns a product into a feedback loop: you see how it's really used, catch failures before customers do, and keep improving it long after it leaves the factory.

  • 01

    Predictive maintenance

Vibration, current and temperature trends flag wear before it turns into downtime or a truck roll.

  • 02

    Over-the-air everything

Signed firmware rolls out in stages, with health checks and automatic rollback if a node misbehaves.

  • 03

    Product intelligence

Real usage data, not guesses, decides what goes into the next hardware revision.

03Process

From bench
to fleet.

A staged path that puts working hardware in your hands early and de-risks the expensive decisions before tooling and production runs.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

Requirements, constraints and target unit cost, plus a feasibility check on sensors, power budget and connectivity.

    Output → Architecture brief
  2. Step 02

    Prototype

Dev-kit and breadboard proofs of concept, wired into a real data pipeline from day one, not a mock.

Output → Working proof of concept
  3. Step 03

    Engineer

Custom PCB, production firmware, enclosure and cloud platform, built in parallel by the same team.

    Output → Engineering prototype
  4. Step 04

    Validate

Bench and field testing, power profiling, pre-compliance checks and a small pilot deployment.

Output → Pilot fleet + test report
  5. Step 05

    Deploy & operate

Manufacturing handoff, device provisioning, the OTA pipeline and ongoing fleet monitoring.

    Output → Production release
04Applications

Built for the field,
not the demo.

Connected hardware earns its keep in harsh, remote and regulated places. These are the kinds of problems our stack is designed to solve.

  • APP-01

    Industrial monitoring

Retrofit sensors on motors, pumps and compressors to track condition and energy use without touching the PLC.

    Sense
    Vibration · Current · Temp
    Link
    LTE-M · Wi-Fi
    Outcome
    Less unplanned downtime
  • APP-02

    Smart agriculture

Soil, weather and water-level nodes designed to run for whole seasons on a battery, far from any socket.

    Sense
Soil moisture · Rain · Level
    Link
    LoRaWAN
    Outcome
    Water where it's needed
  • APP-03

    Cold chain & logistics

Trackers that log temperature, shock and location from the warehouse to the final doorstep.

    Sense
    Temp · Shock · GNSS
    Link
    NB-IoT · BLE
    Outcome
    Proof of condition
  • APP-04

    Energy & utilities

Questions,
answered.

Something else on your mind? Email hello@kenikma.com.

  • Both, and that's the point. The same team designs the board, writes the firmware and builds the cloud platform and apps, so decisions like sampling rate, radio choice and battery life are made with the whole system in view.
